Oil Spotlight

Clarity

10.25.18- Meredith Liggio

Clarity Essential Oil was one of the first oils I purchased from Young Living. And since that time, I have had to reorder more than once. I use this oil every day when I leave the house. It helps me stay alert and find the words I’m searching for. I’ve read that Clarity may even help to oxygenate the brain, and I’m all for that! My brain needs as much oxygen as it can get! (I say this all the time!)

If you are a student studying for an exam, Clarity is an excellent choice to use in your diffuser. One may want to study with this blend diffusing and then smell this same blend during the test to help recall what was studied earlier. Clarity may also be a stimulant for low energy or may help keep one from going into shock.

Let’s take look at the individual essential oils found in Clarity to learn more.

Basil is a familiar herb used in many recipes, but it also has the ability to enhance our senses and encourage concentration, along with helping to alleviating mental fatigue.

Cardamom is uplifting, refreshing, and invigorating, and may be beneficial for clearing confusion.

Rosemary may help reduce mental fatigue as well as balance heart function. It also stimulates memory and opens the conscious mind.

Peppermint has the property of being an anti-inflammatory and can help reduce inflammation in damaged tissue. In a study done by Dr. Dembar, of the University of Cincinnati, it was discovered that inhaling peppermint oil increased the mental accuracy of the students tested by up to 28%.

Rosewood may help improve skin elasticity and is soothing to the skin. It can help the body relax and create a feeling of peace and gentleness.

Geranium is said to help with hormonal balance, liver and kidney functions, and the discharge of toxins from the liver that keep us from having balance. Geranium opens the liver chakra.

Lemon has a fragrance that is invigorating and warming and promotes health, healing, and purification.

Palmarosa, valuable for all types of skin problems, stimulates new cell growth. It also encourages healing.

Ylang Ylang is said to help one be able to focus their thoughts while filtering out the ever-present garbage. It brings about feelings of relaxation, peace, and confidence.

Bergamot may uplift and calm the emotions and help relieve anxiety, stress, and tension. I love the aroma from this oil and often use it at night in my diffuser.

Roman Chamomile is said to neutralize allergies, helps to cleanse the blood, and expel toxins from the liver. This oil has been taken off the list of single oils and only available in blends. I hope it comes back.

Jasmine has properties of antispasmodic and has been used effectively in dealing with menstrual discomfort, muscle spasms, and uterine disorders. It is also very uplifting to the emotions and may help produce a feeling of confidence and optimism.

Diffuse in the diffuser or apply a few drops on a cotton ball at your desk at work or in an air vent.

Clarity is best when applied across the forehead or on on the back of your neck, but some people prefer to put it on the wrists.

Try adding a drop or two in the bathwater or wearing as a perfume.

I regular put clarity on my diffuser bracelet, so if you see me sniffing my bracelet, you’ll know what I’m up to.

As a word of caution, Clarity can be irritating to sensitive skin and one should avoid direct exposure to sunlight after use.
