Matthew 2:11 – “On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold and of frankincense and myrrh.”

Frankincense is the second most referenced oil in the bible. Myrrh is number 1. Frankincense and Myrrh were both given to Mary and Joseph at the birth of Christ.

Frankincense has an earthy, balsamic scent and was used in the holy anointing blend. Diffuse or simply smell during prayer time. In the Old Testament is was used in the anointing blend on new born kings and priests, and may be one of the reasons it was brought to the Christ child.

In addition to these uses, Frankincense contains the naturally occurring constituent alpha-pinene which is known to help in the appearance of healthy-looking skin. It is a key ingredient in many Young Living products, including Boswellia Wrinkle Cream, Brain Power, Awaken, Highest Potential, and Forgiveness, which are favorite products for many members. The oil is distilled from the resin collected from the trunks of the trees.

Lev. 2:1-16 – “And when you will offer a meal offering unto the Lord, his offering shall be of fine flour, and he shall pour oil upon it and put frankincense thereon…and verse 3 – and the remnant (the leftovers) shall be Aaron’s and his sons.”
