Cedarwood – Oils of Ancient Scripture

Cedarwood

Leviticus 14:49 – “To purify the house he is to take two birds and some cedar wood, scarlet yarn and hyssop.”

Solomon built God’s temple out of cedar, a wood known to never decay or rot. Today’s fences are often made of cedar, and we have cedar closets that protect clothing from moths and other cloth eating insects. Cedarwood may also enhance a good night’s sleep just by placing a drop on the corners of your pillow and promote mental clarity when inhaled.

Cedarwood was recognized historically for its calming and purifying properties. The North American Indians used Cedarwood to enhance their spiritual communication. It is also used to help a person overcome an emotional block; that thinking preventing them from moving forward.

Cedarwood’s warm, woodsy aroma is said to create a comforting, uplifting feeling. It can be diffused, inhaled from the bottle, or applied topically. Dilution is not typically needed. A couple of drops of Cedarwood and Frankincense can be massaged into the scalp for shiny, manageable hair.

Cedarwood is steam distilled from bark in Morocco and the United States. It can be found in Young Living products such as Grounding, Highest Potential, Brain Power essential oil blends and Cel-light magic massage oil.
