Flavored Toothpicks

Essential Oil Toothpicks

Have a nasty habit you want to kick like biting nails or smoking? Grabbing for a flavored toothpick with essential oils could help. In fact, cinnamon and clove can help reduce the craving for nicotine. Or may you just want something fun and new for a house party. Guests picking a piece up fruit with a Dreamsicle flavor toothpick might give them a yummy surprise! Your party would be a hit!

Making these toothpicks are pretty easy. First step is buying the right toothpicks. There a lot of cheap knockoffs out there that are lined with plastic. You want to have real wooded toothpicks in order to soak up the oils. Just make sure you read the package carefully, and don’t always be drawn by the cheapest price. You will be using 50 toothpicks per recipe, so buy in bulk if you want to try multiple.

Next, you will need to buy small mason jars for preparing the toothpicks and storing. You’ll need at least one for each recipe. And lastly, you will need organic fractionated coconut oil (if you choose to do a hot oil like cinnamon or Thieves) and paper towels.

First you will combine your recipe in the jar (list below). You can taste-test to make sure you like it, especially if you are mixing up hot oils. I like my toothpicks hot, so I actually add more Cinnamon than what is listed below. Add the toothpicks to the mixture with only one end of the tips submerged. Seal the lid back on the jar and let them sit in the oils for 24 hours. After this period, you will lay out the toothpicks evenly across a paper towel. Let them dry for an additional 24 hours. This prevent your hands from getting full of oils when touching them. Clean the mason jar and put the toothpicks back for storage or serving. It’s that easy!
