Onycha – Oils of Ancient Scripture09.02.17- Meredith Liggio
Exodus 30:34 – “And the Lord said unto Moses, take unto thee sweet spices, stacte, and onycha, and galbanum; these sweet spices with Frankincense: of each shall there a like weight:”
Onycha oil is mentioned in the Bible as one of the ingredients for a “Holy Annointing Oil.” Historically, the Chinese used it for its heating and drying qualities while in the West it was used for respiratory issues.
Onycha is the thickest of all oils. Thin with Peppermint or Lavender for diffusion as using “neat” may clog your diffuser. Onycha helps maintain the appearance of healthy, beautiful, radiant, toned skin. It was traditionally known for its comforting and soothing properties and supportive of proper nasal function. Onycha is collected as a resin and then distilled, much like Frankincense.
Onycha provides soothing support when the occasional stressors of everyday life mount up. Relax with an Onycha foot bath or add a couple drops in a massage. Its exquisite vanilla-like aroma and incredible emotional uplifting and calming properties are why Onycha has been known for its comforting and soothing properties.
Onycha is collected as a resin and ten distilled, much like Frankincense. Itnis one of the more rare oils that is currently only available in the Oils of Ancient Scripture.
